Five survive 100m plunge into ravine along Pan Borneo highway - Nation

MIRI: Five people escaped with minor injuries after the 4WD vehicle they were travelling in plunged into a 100m ravine off the Kanowit-Song section of the Pan Borneo highway in central Sarawak early Friday. Four of them are family members, aged between 15 to 39, while the male driver is aged 40. Bomba personnel had to use ropes to descend the steep terrain to reach the vehicle that was heading from Kanowit to Song. The five - two men and three women - sustained injuries with one of them suffering a fractured leg, said Bomba Sarawak. The victims were hauled up using body harnesses and sent to the nearest clinic in Song for treatment.
