Five Army soldiers went reportedly missing after the intense snowfall caused by the western disturbance over J&K, triggered an avalanche in Bandipora and Naugam sectors on the state on Tuesday. In J&K, three soldiers went missing when their post in Kanzalwan area, Gurez Valley, in Bandipora, was hit by the avalanche. The snowfall hit the 300-km Srinagar-Jammu highway snapping road links to J&K and freezing operations at the Srinagar airport. After Kashmir valley received the season's first snowfall on Monday morning, tourist destination Gulmarg was packed with 20 inches of snow on Tuesday with tourists thronging the hill station.
