ABBOTTABAD: Five of a family, including a couple and three children, died of suffocation due to leakage of gas here on Sunday. Rescue sources said that family hailing from Qalandarabad area of Abbottabad slept on Saturday with the heater’s gas turned on to avoid the cold weather. In the middle of the night, the heater’s flame went off due to the suspension of gas which was restored later, causing the family to die of suffocation. The three children who died were aged between five to eight years. The bodies were shifted to a hospital where the postmortem confirmed that the deaths occurred due to gas suffocation.
