A total of five new COVID deaths have been reported today, stated the Department of Government Information. The postmortem revealed that his cause of death was COVID related pneumonia. A 55 year old male resident of Colombo 15 had passed away on 19 December at the Colombo General Hospital, owing to COVID related pneumonia. A 63 year old female resident of Maggona has also passed away on 19 December due to COVID related blood poisoning and diabetes. An 83 year old male resident of Colombo 10 who had been identified as a COVID patient at the general hospital and has been transferred to the Homagama Hospital, has also passed away due to COVID related pneumonia.
