Fire service Assistant Director Saleh Uddin has been appointed the secretary of the panel. The DNCC Market and the makeshift market had burned down in a fire about two years ago. The makeshift market sold cosmetics, meat and fish, vegetables, grocers and various other food products. Fire safety measures were taken for the two-storey DNCC Market after the fire two days ago, said the market’s Traders Association President SM Talal Rizvi. But fire service officials said the adjacent makeshift market did not have such safety measures.
