Five people were Thursday killed after heavily armed bandits attacked Lami Nyeusi village in West Pokot County. Another person is nursing gunshot wounds following the attack, police and locals said. The attackers are said to have shot the six people who were asleep killing five of them on the spot. West Pokot County Commissioner Apollo Okelo said a team of security officers has been sent to the neighbouring area of Kainuk to track down the bandits. More than 150 people including police officers have been killed in attacks linked to the bandits in the last seven months.
