Fire broke out around 6:30 am on the ground floor of Garden HeightsLAHORE: At least five people were killed in Lahore on Tuesday when a bakery located in the Barkat Market area caught fire, reported Express News. Five people rescued died due to suffocation while being shifted to Jinnah Hospital, while another person’s condition was deemed critical. Mayor of Lahore, Col (retd) Mubashir Javed visited the site of the incident. The deceased were identified as 40-year-old Shahid, 30-year-old Talib, 25-year-old Shahbaz, 15-year-old Shakeel and a 28 year old unknown. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained but rescue services suspect a short circuit to be the cause.
