ISKANDAR PUTERI: Four men and a woman aged between 24 and 31 have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping an Indian national on Monday, and demanding for ransom from the victim’s friend. Iskandar Puteri district police chief Superintendent Noor Hashim Mohamad said the friend, who had received a message from the suspects, lodged a police report. Noor Hashim, in a statement, said the 31-year-old female suspect had befriended the victim on Wechat using someone else’s picture as her profile photo. “The victim, a 31-year-old worker at an oil and gas factory in Gelang Patah had taken medical leave to go meet the woman on Monday,” Noor Hashim said. Noor Hashim said the suspects tested negative for drugs.
