Five people died while being treated at the Covid-19 unit of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) in the 24 hours to Saturday morning. One of them had tested positive for Covid-19 while the rest were showing symptoms consistent with the disease, the unit’s spokesperson Mohiuddin Khan told the media. A total of 86 patients are currently undergoing treatment in the Covid-19 unit with the admission of seven new patients in 24 hours, he said. “Six of them are admitted to the ICU.”A total 337 samples were tested within this period, of which 114 have tested positive. Mymensingh has so far recorded 24,347 Covid-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.
