A retired builder and five of his children aged from four to eleven died in a house fire, police now believe. Investigators are sifting through the remains of the whitewashed farmhouse in Powys, Wales, where David Cuthbertson, 68, lived with at least eight of his 17 children by three different women. The house was gutted by the fire, which left only the walls standing. Three children — aged 13, 12, and 10 — who escaped from the house were being treated in hospital today for non life-threatening injuries.
