Police announced on Sunday that five women were arrested in relation to multiple cases of fraud involving concert and football game tickets, resulting in a loss of about HK$2.2 million. Another three suspects created a WhatsApp chat group - with its members increasing from 30 to 156 in a short period - to provide ticket-purchasing services. The victims paid a total of HK$2 million to the suspects to purchase some 1,9000 concert tickets. One of the suspects was found to have transferred a large amount of money to a relative during the police investigation, with all five women being arrested. They were arrested on suspicion of fraud, conspiracy to defraud and money laundering.
