SportThe Inaugural West Coast Trolling Competition, the flagship event of the Ceylon Sport Fishing Club will be held on March 25 at the Coast Guard Life Saving Premises in Wellawatte. Formed in September 2013 the Sri Lanka Sport Fishing group has attracted the best anglers in Sri Lanka from all parts of the Island. Over 50 competitors will sail out to Sea in search of the game fish that is a popular sport around the world. The International Game Fishing Association which is the world governing body for sport fishing in the world will also have their local representative in Sri Lanka Philip Weinman, who will be in attendance. Ceylon Sport Fishing Clubs’ General activities include promoting awareness and conservation of Sri Lankan fisheries and the coastal environment and also representing the interests of sport and game fishing at a national level.
