GEORGE TOWN: A fisherman pleaded not guilty at a Sessions court here to a charge of attempting to rape a 26-year-old New Zealand tourist near the beach in Tanjung Bungah here. Nor Azizi Abdul Razak (pic), 28, was charged with committing the offence at 11.45am on Sept 3 behind The Cove Condominium. Sessions judge Norsalha Hamzah had first set bail at RM20,000 but Nor Azizi pleaded with the court for a reduced bail. The judge finally set bail at RM10,000 with one surety and ordered Nor Azizi to report himself to the nearest police station on the first of every month. He said a fisherman who was arrested at his house in Bayan Lepas at 1.30am on Sept 8 tested positive for methamphetamine.
