The Internet is currently losing its mind over the supposed sneakiness of a pet fish that managed to escape its owner. The truly comic series of events leading to the departure of the fish, has led social media to compare the incident to the movie Finding Nemo. Brooke Essick, 18, from Kernersville, North Carolina, owned a Betta fish named ‘Dane’, a type of freshwater fish that often has colourful fins. When Essick noticed that Dane’s bowl was dirty, she transferred him to a jar of water so she could clean the bowl. Of course, that didn’t stop commenters from pointing out that Dan had “pulled a Nemo”, referring to the animated movie where an aquarium fish plays dead in order to escape.
