more-inThe first unit of Tuticorin Thermal Power Station (TTPS) has been kept on standby on Sunday. The power generation from this unit was suspended at 9.29 a.m. The load despatch centre from Chennai directed the authorities here to keep on standby since wind energy had been contributing to generate power, sources told The Hindu. The wind power generation under Tirunelveli Circle, Non-Conventional Energy Source, TANGEDCO, touched 1,100 MW on Saturday from windmill plants at Aralvaimozhi, Shencottah and Kayathar. But, the wind energy was down to 600 MW on Friday under this circle.
