A first-time candidate, Talker is contesting in the upcoming BMC polls as BJP candidate in ward 101, covering areas like Bandra Talao, National Library, Chimbai Village, Dr Bhaba Hospital, Turner Road and Carter Road. At one housing society on Turner Road, Talker is stopped by a watchman, who assures him that he will make sure Talker's manifesto reaches the society's members. Speaking about the issues the residents are facing in the ward, Talker says, "The issues differ from area to area. A citizen activist is more aware about the area and the issues faced by the residents of theses different areas." Ward 101 was earlier numbered as ward 95, and Zakaria has been a sitting corporator in the ward for the last two terms.
