SANGSAD BHABAN, Mar 5, 2024 (BSS) - The first session of 12th parliament was prorogued on Tuesday after twenty-two sittings as the session started on January 30. Jatiya Sangsad Leader Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina delivered her valedictory speech at the closing of the session. Fifty parliamentary standing committees were formed while twenty-three parliamentary standing committees also were reconstructed during the session. Along with enactment of the laws, two bills were passed during the twenty-two working session. Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury also thanked all MPs, officials, journalists, law enforcers and fire service and civil defense personnel for their services rendered for smoothly holding the parliament session.
