Vunnaporn Devahastin, secretary general of the National Digital Economy and Society Commission Office (ONDE), said that the satellite policy would cover the areas of geostationary-satellite orbit (GSO) and non-GSO with aim of creating policy criteria for satellite service providers in the country. If the satellite policy is approved by the Cabinet, it expects that the government will officially announce the new policy in September. “This is the first time that Thailand will have a satellite policy and this will benefit both the public and private sectors that utilise the satellite network. I think that it is necessary that the country utilises satellite technology and satellite services to support the digital economy ecosystem.
