Thousands of devotees attend the Akheri Munajat to end the first phase of Ijtema on Saturday; February 16, 2019 Dhaka TribuneThe second phase of the Bishwa Ijtema will commence on February 17 at the same venueThe first phase of the 54th Bishwa Ijtema has ended with the Akheri Munajat (final prayers), with thousands of devotees seeking blessings for the Muslim Ummah. The Munajat started around 10:42am on Saturday. Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner YM Belalur Rahman said: “Extensive security measures were taken in and around the Ijtema ground to maintain law and order centring the Munajat. The second phase of the Ijtema will commence on February 17, at the same venue, and it is scheduled to end with Akheri Munajat on February 18. However, since 2011, Tabligh Jamaat had been organizing the Ijtema in two phases to ease accommodation problems.
