BigstockThe three-day exhibit is aimed at promoting culinary tourismThe Food and Hospitality Bangladesh Expo 2019 has begun in Dhaka to showcase various traditional Bangladeshi delicacies, aiming to promote culinary tourism and attract both local and international tourists. The three-day exhibit, the first of its kind in Bangladesh, kicked off at the International Convention City Bashundhara on Thursday, inaugurated by Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury. The expo has been jointly organized by Bangladesh International Hospitality Association (BIHA) and Wem Bangladesh Limited, under the supervision of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation. Live shows such as chef challenges, workshops on different cuisines, and round-table discussions on food and hospitality are set to be held on the sideline of the expo. Welcoming the initiative to hold the first ever food and hospitality expo in Bangladesh, the minister suggested organizing similar events abroad in order to promote Bangladeshi food in the global arena.
