MANILA, Philippines — The coronavirus disease, or COVID-19, has reached the Visayas and Mindanao with two cases being confirmed in those areas — the two being part of the 16 new confirmed cases that the Department of Health reported earlier on Wednesday during a press conference. According to the DOH, one patient was admitted to a hospital in Cagayan de Oro and another was admitted to a hospital in Dumaguete City. DOH said the patient traveled to Greenhills in San Juan which the first local case of the disease — PH 5 — also frequented. PH 5, a 62-year-old Filipino man, would often go to the Muslim prayer hall in San Juan. Meanwhile, PH 40 is a 54-year-old Filipino man who has no travel history and is currently confined at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center in Cagayan de Oro.
