General Shavendra Silva, the Head of the National Operations Center for the Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), yesterday stated that the first consignment of seven million Sputnik V anti-COVID vaccines is likely to arrive in Sri Lanka in May. He also said that the Cabinet has given approval to import up to 13 million Sputnik vaccines. “We have enough vaccines as of now to complete the second dose of the vaccination drive. We will definitely complete the second dose of vaccination drive with the stocks we have,” he said. Therefore, we have to admit that the number of patients are also lesser,” he said.
