Aside Ghana, the visit, her first to Africa is part of a five-day African tour which will also see her make planned stops in Malawi, Kenya and Egypt. Along with Ghana’s First Lady and some senior government officials, Mrs. Trump was welcomed by a group of school children waving flags and a colourful cultural display at the Kotoka International Airport. "Her trip will focus on maternal and newborn care in hospitals, education for children, the deep culture and history woven into each African country, and how the United States is supporting each country on its journey to self-reliance.”Mrs. Akufo-Addo later held closed door discussions with First Lady Trump at the Presidential Palace, The Jubilee House. She is expected to visit the Emintsimadze Palace as well as embark on a private tour of the Cape Coast Castle in the Central Region.
