First Lady Condemns Brutal Assault of Women in Sinoe

First Lady Clar Marie Weah has condemned the recent inhumane treatment of two ladies in Sinoe County. In a statement issued Tuesday, February 26, 2019, Mrs. Weah described the ordeal inflicted upon the ladies as barbaric, unacceptable and a flagrant violation of their human rights. First Lady Weah said the humiliation of the two women, along with a third person who reportedly died as a result of the brutal assault, is a reckless disregard of humanity, particularly womanhood. As the First Lady, as well as the Feminist-in-Chief, Mrs. Weah asserted she would not sit supinely and see women dehumanized, reaffirming her commitment towards the protection of women and girls’ rights. First Lady Weah however urged the victims and their families, along with sympathizers, to remain calm as the government intervenes in the case.
