According to virtual mall StateDuka.co.ke co-founder William Anguka, online business portals are not about to fade away. But the craze has not come without challenges that have placed a new responsibility on companies to invest cyber security measures. Three firms also suffered Distributed Denial of Service attacks (DDOS) leading to temporal lockdowns while 24 cases of online fraud were reported and 64 online hate speech complaints lodged. But cyber-security firms feel local companies need to concentrate on their core mandate while leaving matter IT to them.
