Traffic delays plagued a highway north of Christchurch for more than three hours after a load of firewood fell off the back of a truck. Up to 10 cubic metres of wood was accidentally dumped on State Highway 1 north of Tram Rd in Kaiapoi about 7.15am on Wednesday. Two hours after the incident, a lane remained closed "to complete debris removal", a Christchurch Transport Operations Centre spokesman said.
