PUTRAJAYA: A fireman who was injured in the line of duty will not be denied his opportunity of getting a promotion. Fire officer Shazlan Mohd Hanafiah was slated for a promotional interview but ended up in the hospital after being injured in a fire on Nov 10. "We have applied to the Public Service Department to allow Shazlan to be interviewed for a job promotion at the hospital,” he said. "He was scheduled to attend an interview for job promotion from Grade KB19 (Fire Officer) to KB29 (Assistant Fire Superintendent). Shazlan was part of a team that responded to a fire at a factory when he was injured with a colleague.
