Firefighters battled a huge blaze at a block of flats in east London believed to have been built by a developer previously criticised over a lack of fire safety in some of their other structures. Since 2016, the Bellway Homes stake in the whole Barking Riverside London venture has been owned by London and Quadrant Housing Trust. He said: 'Barking Riverside!!! In 2015, the Kent street saw 45 homes damaged or destroyed after a fire took hold in a block of Bellway Homes flats in Canterbury. Persimmon Homes and Bellway Homes both said they were addressing the issue.
