Firefighters search burning Rotorua houseGOOGLE Firefighters got conflicting reports about whether people could be inside the Brookland Road home. Firefighters were called to a single-storey house on Brookland Road at 2.35pm on Sunday. The fire had taken hold of the home by the time they arrived, fire northern communications shift manager Megan Ruru said. There were reports that people could be in the house, so firefighters did a search - though they were told on arrival that the house appeared to be vacant. The searches showed no-one had been in the house, fire northern communications shift deputy Craig Dally said.
