Firefighters deal with flare-ups after Canterbury blazes

Four helicopters and 15 crews battled the Waterholes Rd fire in Templeton for several hours on Wednesday afternoon. However, a small flare-up this morning was contained by crews, and they will have an ongoing presence at the site today. Two Templeton homes remained without power on Friday morning. Meanwhile, a crew also attended a small flare up last night of two hot spots at the site of Wednesday's Tunnel Rd fires. A crew from the Woolston station attended after a report of smoke at the location and dug out the hot spots with hand tools, Fire and Emergency spokesman Ian Littlejohn said.
