A Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fenz) spokesman said it was called to the 50sqm fire near Pinders Pond, which is between Roxburgh and Millers Flat, about 3.17pm. Five appliances were called to the blaze and it was contained by 3.40pm. A reporter at the scene said two fire appliances remained at the scene after 4pm and firefighters were dampening down hotspots.
