The blaze was in about 50 per cent of the home. A wheelchair-bound woman has been helped from her burning home by a member of the public. About 9.20am on Saturday a fire started in the woman's home in Thatcher St, Castlecliff, Whanganui. Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) shift manager Murray Dunbar said when the woman phoned FENZ she identified she was disabled. He said the fire was in about 50 per cent of the home and two crews were working to extinguish it.
