Firefighters spent more than an hour battling a suspicious fire in Christchurch last night. A crew from the Redwood Fire Station was called to the blaze on Jones Rd in Northwood about 11.50pm on Monday. Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman Daniel Reilly said a number of flax bushes were on fire when the crew arrived. "The fire is suspicious and the details have been passed on to police," he said.
