The blaze at Jack's Point Restaurant was believed to have started in the chimney, Fire Service southern communications shift manager Brent Dunn. Jacks Point is a development about 30 minutes from Queenstown. Jacks Point is a 1200-hectare property on the shores of Lake Wakatipu. As well as the restaurant, it has a golf course, hiking trails and mountain biking tracks.
