(Image: Supplied)A fire which broke out next to a major railway line in West Lothian "could have been much worse", locals have said. The blaze started in an area of grass and shrubs next to the line in the Whiteside area of Bathgate just before 6pm on Wednesday, April 8. ‌The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said they received a number of calls about the incident, and immediately dispatched a crew. The first came in at 17.54, reporting an area of grass on fire near the railway.
