Fire struck yet another nursing home in Taiwan on Friday, this time killing at least four people and injuring more than 50 in a Pingtung facility. Tsai reported Friday that at the time of the fire, only two nurses and six attendants were on duty — three staff members short of the legal requirement. Only four staff members were on duty at the time of the fire, though the center was legally required to have nine. In May 2014, 12 were hurt when a Tainan nursing home was struck by arson. In October 2012, another Tainan nursing home was struck by arson, this time by one of its elderly residents.
