Helicopters dump monsoon buckets of water on fire near Tangoio. Despite a bucketful of rain overnight, the Tangoio fire in Hawke's Bay continues to burn. Managing Director of Pan Pac, Doug Ducker, said staff members also continued to assist fire fighters during the mop up. "Around 30 Pan Pac staff and contractors worked with FEMZ to contain the flare ups, which were isolated to the FMNZ area. At this stage, Pan Pac has lost about 150 hectares of five-year-old trees in the Shinoda forest at a cost of around $300,000 plus replanting costs."
