Officials observe these supposed fire service persons extort money from unexpected clients and issue fake fire certificates to them. Ashanti Regional Fire Commander, Semekor Fiadzo says “some people are going round issuing fake certificates indicating that it is coming from fire services.”He wants the public to cause the arrest such persons when they encounter them. “Fire service we don’t sell extinguishers or either take money for those services these persons are alluding to so should anybody even in fire service uniform with any of these activities come to you, please cause their arrest”, he said. Deputy Chief Fire Officer Fiadzo reveals, “there are some telephone numbers on the receipt [issued by the fraudsters].
