Fire and Emergency NZ will impose fire restrictions across Auckland and a prohibited season for the islands of the Hauraki Gulf on Monday, December 2. The announcement came after fire restrictions had already been introduced in Northland, which has experienced an already dry year. In July, Stuff revealed that FENZ had issued zero prosecutions for 260 illegal fires in Auckland and Northland between the 2017 and 2018 fire ban seasons.
