Crews expect to be battling the Upper Hutt fire for a long time. A fire in an Upper Hutt wood drying kiln has been put out. The fire broke out in the kiln on Jupiter Gr, near State Highway 2, shortly before 7am on Wednesday, a Fire & Emergency spokeswoman said. It had since been put out.
