Crews were now ventilating smoke from the terminal. In a social media post, Wellington Airport said there would likely be delays to flights and passengers would soon be allowed back in the terminal. Wellington Free Ambulance spokeswoman Sarah Coulthard said the organisation was aware of the event but was not required to attend.
