Fire in Bangkok building kills two

They found a five-storey wholesale clothes shop building on fire from the second floor upwards. The building guard Samruay Paisol, 44, told police that he and two other persons were in the building. He was sitting on the ground floor while the other worker and his wife were sleeping on the rooftop when he heard someone shouting “fire on the second floor”. He said he went out to check the building and found the flames spreading upwards from the second floor and so he alerted police. The building has been sealed for inspection for 15 days amid fears it might collapse, while nearby buildings have been told to avoid the use of heavy machines during this period.
