The affected traders claimed they suffered nearly Tk5 crore in damages from the flames. Six firefighting units from Comilla, Chandina, South Sadar and EPZ branches, together with locals, put out the flames after three hours, said Comilla Fire Service station manager Alamgir Hossain. He said the origin of the fire had yet to be determined. More than 40 wholesale shops of various products, including cosmetic and cash money, were burnt in the fire.
