Fire guts a floor in Mazgaon building


A major fire broke out in a two-storey old wooden building at Mazgaon in south Mumbai on Wednesday afternoon. According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade, the fire started from the second floor of the Bandukwala Building. Within an hour, the fire fighters could control the blaze and confine it to the second floor itself. A fire officer said: "The fire was confined to second floor of the building before it was completely doused. Motorists travelling towards south Mumbai have been diverted to alternative routes.
