Police said the fire started inside a bedroom on the second floor of the townhouse on Nakhon Ratchasima Stadium Road at about a half-hour after midnight. Firefighters took about 10 minutes to put out the fire, which a damaged everything inside the bedroom. Homeowner Pennapha Chujun-ad said that she had not yet gone to bed and was talking to her son on the first floor, when she heard strange sounds from his bedroom. She saw fire upon opening the bedroom door, so she and her son rushed out of the house and called 191. Police said they believe the fire was caused by a short circuit.
