Firefighters at the house in Fairfield on Tuesday afternoon. Fire has badly damaged a property in the Hamilton suburb of Fairfield. The fire at the Paul Crescent address started before 5pm on Tuesday, said Fire and Emergency New Zealand. The abandoned house and garage was well involved in fire by the time crews from Chartwell and Hamilton attended, said a FENZ shift manager. A fire investigator made a preliminary visit to the scene after the fire had been extinguished.
