Firefighters have "suppressed" a house fire in Christchurch, but are still dampening down hot spots. Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) received "multiple calls" about a house on fire on Jollie St, Linwood, about 11am on Sunday. Three fire crews were sent to the scene and found the home "well involved in fire". Speaking at 11.45am, a FENZ spokesman said two of the three crews remained at the property. However, the FENZ spokesman said they could not be certain of the cause "until we have investigated it".
