The fire service received reports of a fire on the first floor of a building on road 11/A in Dhanmondi, at 8:24pm on Saturday. "It was quickly put out by building residents before firefighters could step in," he added. However, it was doused before fire service units reached the spot. Only two days ago, a deadly fire at Banani’s FR Tower, left 26 people dead and injured 70.
