LAHORE: Rawalpindi customs department on Thursday seized a smuggled and non-custom-paid car allegedly owned by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Firdous Ashiq Awan. A Toyota Land Cruiser was recovered in Islamabad from Awan’s driver as customs officials took an action after receiving intelligence-based information. Rawalpindi customs department registered a case against Awan’s driver after arresting him and seizing the car. It was immediately verified that the car was non-custom-paid and smuggled, as its chassis number had been tampered with. The arrested driver confessed before the law enforcers that the vehicle belonged to Awan.
