Fingerprint CEO Nancy MacIntyre: Thriving As Startup Founder After 50

Courtesy of Fingerprint DigitalWhen Nancy MacIntyre co-founded Fingerprint Digital in 2010 and sought funding for the children’s app platform, some of the prospective investors she met apparently were unaccustomed to fielding pitches from women who had just marked a 50th birthday. “Their initial attitude was like, ‘You should be starting a bakery or a knitting store’” rather than a tech company, said MacIntyre, Fingerprint CEO and a former LeapFrog Enterprises executive. MacIntyre describes the educational and play content venture as something like a Netflix for kids. To build relationships with consumers and teachers, Fingerprint has developed a social media ad strategy aimed at mommy and education bloggers. MacIntyre became a founder by way of a long corporate career that included executive positions at Hasbro Interactive, Atari, LucasArts and, shortly before bounding into startup life, LeapFrog.
